Sachin Lawande, recently appointed chief executive of automotive parts supply firm Visteon Corp., has joined Computer Sciences Corp.’s board of directors.
CSC said Thursday he was also named a member of the firm’s compensation committee.
“Sachin’s depth of experience, industry knowledge and global perspective will be valuable assets as CSC continues on its transformational journey,†said CSC Chairman Rodney F. Chase.
Lawande, who will start his role as Visteon CEO on June 29, previously served as infotainment unit president at electronics firm Harman International Industries.
During his nine years at Harman, he held senior executive roles at the firm’s automotive business segment and was responsible for the introduction of an offshore development facility in India as part of the company’s strategy to expand its global presence in the field of engineering.
The holder of four communications software patents was instrumental in the creation of consumer electronics and networking platforms at 3Com, AT&T Bell Labs and U.S. Robotics.
