Research and Markets has released a new report that predicts the global software-defined storage market will grow 35.2 percent from 2015 through 2019, spurred by increased enterprise use of flash-based storage.
The market research firm said Wednesday that platform interoperability is one of the advantages of using SDS in flash-based storage.
The report also identified allocating, migrating, compressing and replicating data as challenges that the SDS market face.
The report categorizes EMC, HP, IBM, NetApp and VMware as tier-one market players.
