Milan Patel, formerly chief technology officer of FBI‘s cyber division, has joined K2 Intelligence as managing director at the New York-based investigative consulting firm.
The 12-year bureau veteran managed the bureau’s information and operational technologies for cyber investigation, incident response and threat intelligence sharing activities, K2 said Monday.
He also helped establish a U.S. joint requirements team to help federal agencies implement the White House’s critical infrastructure cybersecurity framework.
Before he became FBI’s cyber division CTO, Patel worked as a Washington-based supervisory special agent in charge of enterprise investigations and cyber threat briefings.
He also led an investigation into hactivist group Anonymous and the Operation Ghost Click.
His time at the FBI also included service as a senior interrogator for the bureau’s counterterrorism programs abroad and as a special weapons and tactics team operator.
