The General Services Administration intends to extend Regional Local Service Agreements with multiple government telecommunication service providers to coincide with a planned 2020 extension of Networx contracts.
Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of GSA’s office of integrated technology services, wrote in a blog post published Tuesday the agency also plans to add current regional telecommunication offerings to the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions follow-on procurement vehicle.
She said the initiatives come under the agency’s transition to its next telecommunications contracting tool, Network Services 2020.
The agency has also decided not to implement a proposed Regional Infrastructure Solutions program after an assessment has shown RIS would overlap with EIS.
“GSA found eliminating the RIS acquisitions could achieve significant savings for industry and government and avoid unnecessary duplication and transitions,” Davie added.
