DataDirect Networks will provide its cloud and big data storage technologies and other tools to Public Health England for the U.K. agency’s genome sequencing service on pathogenic bacteria and viruses.
The company said Tuesday PHE will use its Storage Fusion Architecture engine, EXAScaler Lustre File System Appliance and WOS Object Storage platform to deliver the Next-Generation Sequencing Processing and Analysis Service.
The partnership also works to support PHE’s public health analysis and intervention efforts through storage, a parallel file system as well as I/O and data resiliency functions to manage the large volume of data processed during sequencing and speed up time to results, DDN added.
DDNÂ also noted its support to NGSS for the identification and analysis of pathogens is in line with the company’s commitment to the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health.
