Amazon Web Services has started to work with the General Services Administration‘s 18F on a project to help federal mobile users access Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program-approved cloud services, Fedscoop reported Thursday.
Billy Mitchell writes the pilot project kicked off in May and its goal is to grant FedRAMP and trusted Internet connection certifications to cloud service providers in a single test.
“We’ve already identified that, based on what we already have in our AWS security package, we can achieve the TIC capabilities controls about 90 percent already,” Jennifer Gray, a compliance architect at AWS, said Thursday at the company’s Government, Education and Nonprofits symposium in Washington.
Veris Group is working with AWS to test the cloud’s FedRAMP compliance, according to the report.
Matt Goodrich, GSA’s FedRAMP, said the agency plans to expand the initiative to other devices and networks, Fedscoop reports.
