Vion will compete as the only small business original equipment manufacturer awardee on a 10-year, $20 billion governmentwide acquisition contract for information technology products and services awarded by a National Institutes of Health office.

The company said Thursday it will offer cloud and other IT products and services in the areas of health and life sciences via the Chief Information Officer – Commodities Solutions vehicle.

Tom Frana, president and CEO of Vion, told ExecutiveBiz the company forecasts CIO-CS as an opportunity for federal healthcare agencies to “leverage our established healthcare expertise, and gain an easy method to procure storage, as well as our newest healthcare solutions for big data analytics and cyber secure analytics.”

NIH’s Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center awarded 65 vendors positions on the vehicle, which went into effect May 1.

CIO-CS awardees comprise seven original equipment manufacturers — including Vion — and 58 value-added resellers that will offer agencies on-premise and cloud-based IT commodities.
