ContractsA joint venture of Fluor and Balfour Beatty Infrastructure has won a four-year, $581 million contract from the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority to provide engineering and construction services for the Bergstrom Expressway Project in Austin, Texas.

Colorado River Constructors will perform reconstruction work on U.S. Highway 183, bridges, interchanges and flyover ramps and install traffic management systems under the design-build contract, Fluor said Thursday.

“The Fluor-Balfour joint venture is proud to have been selected for this contract continuing our 14-year relationship with Balfour in Texas,” said Terry Towle, president of infrastructure at Fluor.

“We look forward to successfully delivering the project in partnership with the Mobility Authority.”

Construction on the expressway project, which caters to 60,000 vehicles per day, is scheduled to begin in 2016 and complete in 2020.
