A third batch of veterans has graduated from a SAP National Security Services training program designed to help retired servicemen land information technology jobs with federal agencies and companies, the Washington Times reported Sunday.
Jacqueline Klimas writes the 11-week SAP NS2 Serves course offers veterans advice on how to improve their resumes and communication skills and boost their confidence during job interviews.
“The young men and women that were overdeployed, often the ones who were over there getting shot at if they don’t have a college degree, their resume has a tendency not to make it very far,â€Â said Mark Testoni, CEO of SAP NS2 and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list for 2015.
“We said, ‘Let’s take those great skills that they get in the military — focus on mission, teamwork, not going to be denied, an attitude that has helped this country prevail — let’s now take that and layer some really sought-after technical skills on top that [to] make them more attractive,’†he added.
Testoni told the publication four of its graduates landed jobs at Computer Sciences Corp. in 2014, and that all of its graduates usually secure job offers within two months with $55,000 as their lowest annual starting pay.
