Science Applications International Corp. has received a U.S. General Services Administration award in recognition of SAIC’s mentor-protege relationship with information technology firm Penobscot Bay Media.
SAIC accepted the GSA’s Mentor-Protege of the Year award during a May 13 ceremony held in Washington, the company said Thursday.
“We are proud to help our proteges develop their business and technical capabilities to successfully compete for prime and subcontract awards,” said Nazzic Keene, an SAIC sector president.
The company helped PenBay to develop business expansion, capture and proposal development strategies during fiscal 2014 through GSA’s mentor-protege program.
The program is managed by the Office of Small Business Utilization and encourages large companies to guide smaller businesses that aim to pursue federal contracts.
