Drone Aviation Holding Corp. will provide the U.S. Army with aerostat-related equipment for the service’s Blimp in a Box systems to support mobile communications and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.
The company said Tuesday the contract includes provisions for “lighter-than-air” helium-based aerial assets, which the Defense Department, Transportation Department and some state and local law enforcement agencies use for training and operations.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to work closely with our Government customers who utilize our platforms on an ongoing basis,” said Felicia Hess, CEO of Drone Aviation Holding Corp.
The company’s aerostat products also include WASP, which features a tether line connected to a ground unit to operate in line with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
