Harris Corp. has opened a 464,000-square-foot center in Florida to host research and development of the firm’s communications and information technology products.
The Harris Technology Center houses more than 1,400 company employees and includes engineering laboratories and conference rooms, Harris said Monday.
To mark National Engineers Week, the company is hosting an event to highlight the contributions of its engineers and demonstrate more than 30 technologies that the company has built.
“The HTC grand opening and technology expo highlight that engineering and innovation are the cornerstones of our company and showcases the significant achievements made by our 6,000 talented engineers throughout the year,” said William Brown, Harris’ president, chairman and CEO.
Dr. Timothy Dimmick, a 13-year veteran of Harris and senior scientist within the government communications systems segment, has been named a recipient of the company’s Fellow Award for 2015.
