Booz Allen Hamilton‘s executive leaders have focused much of their attention on information technology security as the firm sees an increase in criminal activities against IT setups, Booz Allen Chief Information Officer Kevin Winter has told FierceCIO.
“If you have intellectual property, you have something of value on your network; you’re eventually going to have someone want to take it from you,” Winter told the publication.
“We’re seeing an incredible uptick over the past six years in state-sponsored activity. These are organizations that receive funding from state governments to acquire as much intellectual capital as they can.”
As part of the conversation with David Weldon, Winter also described the firm’s reporting structure that sees him report to the chief information security officer.
