Maryanne Lavan serves as senior vice president, corporate secretary and general counsel for Lockheed Martin Corp where she is responsible for management of Lockheed’s legal affairs and law department, including serving as counsel to senior leadership and the board of directors.
Prior to her current role, she served as VP of internal audit, providing independent assessments of governance, internal controls and risk management across Lockheed Martin.
Lavan joined the firm in 1990 as an attorney and has served in increasingly responsible positions within the Lockheed Martin legal department in the subsequent 23 years.
She is an active member of the Public Contract Law Section of the American Bar Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Character Education Partnership and is on the Board of Directors of the National Chamber Litigation Center.
Lavan graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Science degree and received her juris doctor degree from the Washington College of Law, American University, where she was a member of the Law Review.
