Lockheed Martin has signed a contract to help manufacture waste solutions provider Concord Blue Energy’s advanced waste converter.
Under the agreement, the defense contractor will provide support to make the components of the Concord Blue Reformer, technology that uses heat transfer to convert waste into energy, Concord Blue said Oct. 10.
The partnership follows a pact the two companies sealed in 2013 to develop a next-generation environmentally friendly waste disposal system.
The gasification process that occurs in the Reformer allows converted products to be used for electricity, synthetic fuels and heat.
