Dwight Hunsicker serves as senior vice president and general manager of Globecomm Systems’ government solutions business unit.
In this role, he is responsible for the unit’s go-to-market strategy and leads work to position the company’s products and services within the government market space.
Hunsicker leads a team of business development and sales professionals that work with agencies in the defense, intelligence, foreign affairs and civilian spaces.
Globecomm says its government business represents more than half of total revenue.
He joined the company in 2001 from WorldLinks, which he co-founded to provide professional engineering and consulting services to domestic, international and U.S. government clients.
Prior to WorldLinks, he served as division manager of marketing and sales for Westinghouse’s communications division.
In that role, he led marketing and sales efforts for business tracks such as tactical military communications, air defense-air traffic control communications, mobile communications, broadcast systems and transit CAD/AVL systems.
Earlier, Hunsicker was on active duty for eight years as a U.S. Navy flight officer and logged more than 1,500 flight hours on A-6E and EA-6B jets.
Hunsicker flew more than 20 combat missions in conflicts in Grenada and Lebanon.
He holds an M.B.A. degree from Sellinger School of Business at Loyola University Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University.
