Rep. Dutch RuppersbergerÂ and Gov.Â Martin O’MalleyÂ of MarylandÂ will deliverÂ the opening remarks at the CyberMaryland Conference onÂ Wednesday and Thursday, which will hostÂ representatives from academia, industry and government.
“Governor O’Malley launched the CyberMaryland initiative in January 2010 to position the state as the epicenter of cybersecurity,”Â Dominick Murray, secretary of theÂ Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, said Friday.
DBED said this year’s eventÂ willÂ featureÂ sessions and panel discussions on career paths, entrepreneurship, funding, technology developments and other topics related to cybersecurity.
The conferenceÂ is part of theÂ CyberMaryland 2014 eventÂ consisting of competitions, awards and job hiring activitiesÂ intended to highlight innovations in the field and bolster future careers in cybersecurity, DBED said.
