Colin Lacey, vice president of data center transformation services at Unisys, has outlined several recommended steps for enterprises to implement their cloud strategy.
Lacey wrote in a post published Tuesday that Unisys begins its approach by developing a plan and evaluating the workloads through technical, business requirement and compliance reviews.
“Moving along the curve, once you have successfully completed the plan, design and build phases, the goal is to move towards the delivery of IT as a service,” she said.
Lacey added that enterprises must consolidate cloud and non-cloud, on premise and remote and physical and virtual resources within a management framework that features a centralized portal, service catalog, reporting, security and analytics.
He discussed other steps to adopt a cloud strategy with Forrester‘s Dave Bartoletti in a recent Unisys webinar.
Bartoletti proposed cloud experimentation and optimization as phase models for implementing a cloud strategy, Lacey wrote.
