Northrop Grumman has earned British certification that enables its CommandPoint software to transfer calls from the NHS 111 nonemergency medical helpline to a 999 command center for rapid response.
The National Health Service in Britain awarded the NHS 111 messaging accreditation for the public safety system, currently in use by the London Ambulance Service mission, Northrop said Tuesday.
The company indicated that the newly certified feature allows automatic routing of incident data, reducing double keying and duplication errors while saving time on the dispatch of first responders or emergency services.
“This NHS accreditation is another indication of our commitment to the NHS and ambulance services to improve patient care,” said Ed Sturms, vice president and general manager for civil division at Northrop Grumman Information Systems.
“We are pleased that this CommandPoint capability is currently operational and poised for integration with the 111 service,†he added.
