Huntington Ingalls Industries‘ shipbuilding division will use QinetiQ‘s Paramarine Ship and Submersible Design Software for ship design and construction work on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and carry out research and development in submarine systems.
QinetiQ said Monday HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding will deploy Paramarine to function as naval architectural software and use Team Paramarine License for multiple users.
The license package is designed for concurrent use and design auditing and to include training courses for the NNS naval architecture team on new-user and early-stage design.
“We look forward to working with NNS,” said Vittorio Vagliani, managing director of QinetiQ’s marine design software business.
Newport News Shipbuilding designs, builds and provides refueling and overhaul services for Navy aircraft carriers and submarines.
