Cisco and Red Hat have extended their partnership to open collaboration around the OpenStack, Intercloud and Application Centric Infrastructure tools and unveiled a new integrated infrastructure for cloud deployments on OpenStack.
Cisco said Thursday the new Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure product family is designed for private cloud operations on OpenStack and on-ramp to Intercloud for enterprise and midmarket customers.
“Open source technology has emerged as the catalyst for cloud innovation,” said Paul Cormier, president of products and technologies at Red Hat.
The new platform combines Cisco Unified Computing, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform and will be available in Starter, Advanced and Advanced ACI editions based on the scale of cloud deployment.
Cisco added that it works with Red Hat to foster open source innovation, policy-based automation and virtualization for hybrid cloud and deliver sstorage and platform-as-a-service technologies.
