IBM has rolled out Watson Analytics, it’s latest product designed to provide average business users with quick and easy access to powerful analytics using big data technology.
Bob Picciano, IBM senior vice president for information and analytics, described the “transformational†power of the analytics tool, which the company said offers everyone unhindered access to data analysis crucial to decision-making, predicting results and preparing reports that go beyond simple spreadsheets – all while using familiar business terms.
The release comes with a version that enables free use of IBM’s cloud from a desktop computer or mobile device, the company said Tuesday.
Watson Analytics works to allow regular business professionals to use predictive analysis and visualization on data, features that are generally utilized by data scientists or analysts trained to process specialized information.
The service will soon be hosted on Softlayer and made available on IBM Cloud and IBM Bluemix, with a beta version for software vendors and developers available next month.
