Harris Corp. has attained certification from the National Security Agency for the company’s new multi-channel manpack radio system.
Harris will be able to deploy Falcon III RF-340M radios up to the Top Secret level of secure voice and data communications under the Type-1 certification, the company said Wednesday.
The Army intends to use the multi-channel manpack in its efforts to meet handheld, manpack and small-form Factor tactical radio program requirements.
“NSA certification of the RF-340M is a significant milestone as the U.S. Army transitions to competitive tactical radio procurements,” said George Helm, president of the Defense Department business within Harris RF Communications.
Harris built to deliver MUOS satellite communications service and host U.S. government wideband and narrowband waveforms.
The first batch of Falcon III RF-340M radios is set for delivery to the Navy in the fall.
