DRS Technologies‘ Signal Solutions segment will unveil the Polaris radio frequency tuner, which will serve cognitive radio networks and other commercial applications, at the company’s 37th annual SIGINT Technology Exposition in September.
DRS said Wednesday the VHF/UHF tuner provides capabilities for spectrum monitoring and RF interference detection, beam forming, signal intelligence and wideband spectral sensing.
Kerry Rye, director of tactical solutions at DRS Signal Solutions, said the company sought to improve on the Nanoceptor with a more compact design and wider frequency and bandwidth coverage.
The company said the exposition will also feature the Sparrow microwave tuner, the Gunslinger spectrum analyzer and other open architecture and tactical products as well as presentations on cyber and electronic warfare convergence and open source software development.
Former astronaut Edward Lu will be the keynote speaker at the event, which uses the theme “Detect, Collect, Defend” this year.
