CAE Inc. has been awarded a $32.5 million contract to upgrade the aircrew training system of Canada’s armed forces, Airforce Technology reported Tuesday.
The company will provide CC-130J Hercules training simulators and courseware for the Canadian Armed Forces’ tactical airlift fleet program at the Canadian Forces Base Trenton in Ontario, according to the report.
“The training… will ensure this fleet can continue to enable troops to conduct safer and more effective operations at home and abroad well into the future,†James Bezan, Canadian defense minister parliamentary secretary, told Airforce Technology.
CAE will also update the lesson plans, publications, training devices and spares based on the CC-130J upgrades, according to the report.
“We are not only giving our airmen and airwomen important training, but it is also an investment in the growth of the Canadian defence and security industries, which ultimately bolsters the economic prosperity of our country,†Canadian Defense Minister Rob Nicholson told the publication.
