Siemens and Tata Consultancy Services have combined the former’s Rulestream software and the latter’s engineering solutions to develop ETO2Win for automating engineer-to-order manufacturing processes, the ARC Advisory Group posted Wednesday on its website.
Dick Slansky writes the solution is designed to streamline business processes, from inquiry to quote and from order to release; manage manufacturing costs, margins and delivery; and boost proposal win rates.
With an automated process, manufacturers are expected to meet their clients’ growing demand for particular product configurations and lessen production lead time, Slansky said.
“Automating, standardizing and managing these business processes reduces project risk and provides a basis for competitive advantage,” explained Ralph Rio, research director for enterprise software at ARC.
