Serco has received the Champions of Veteran Enterprise Award from the National Veteran Small Business Coalition for providing contracting opportunities to small businesses owned by veterans and service-disabled veterans.
The company will be presented the award at the 2014 Veteran Entrepreneur Training Symposium on June 17 for subcontracting 14.3% to such businesses and exceeding the 3-percent goal mandated by Congress, Serco said Thursday.
“We are proud to work with businesses being run by U.S. military veterans,” said Darryl Scott, director of the company’s small business office.
Other federal agencies or prime contractors that met or exceeded the mandated subcontracting goal will be honored at the June event.
