A Northrop Grumman subsidiary has been awarded a contract to produce air traffic control communication radios for India’s national airports agency.
Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems will supply T6 transmitters and receivers, S4 remote control units, filters, multicouplers and antennas under the contract, Northrop said Friday.
“We are pleased to be involved from the outset in AAI’s plans to roll out systems employing next-generation technologies, particularly Park Air’s advanced IP radio networks that are delivering dependable ATC communications across the Americas, Europe and Asia,†said Charles Houseago, managing director of Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems.
The radio system is scheduled for delivery in 2015 and contains a new Voice over Internet Protocol communications technology to work with AAI’s IP network.
