Battelle Memorial Institute and Xerox Research Centre Canada have forged an alliance to help commercial and government clients develop specialty materials.
The alliance seeks to combine the firms’ research and development expertise, provide access to XRCC’s manufacturing scale-up facility and help customers bring new technology to the market, Xerox said Thursday.
XRCC scientists design and develop electronic components, nanotechnology, coatings, environmental processes and synthetic polymers.
“Clients come to us because they have a great idea they want to bring to market or face a tough challenge they want to solve,” said Paul Smith, XRCC vice president and director.
“Our alliance with Battelle expands XRCC’s innovative capabilities and competencies, so we can achieve even greater advances in science and business concepts,” Smith added.
Battelle runs national laboratories and perfoms research work for clients in the energy, healtcare, pharmaceutical, national security, environmental and industrial sectors.
