Siemens and the M+W Group are working together to create an energy storage product as the companies seek to take an environmentally-friendly approach to battery manufacturing.
The companies are also partnering to complete a control technology tool intended for the mass production of large-size batteries, M+W Group said March 18.
Areas of research in the partnership include, automation, monitoring and technical process control via a supervisory system, supervisory control system and a manufacturing execution system.
Siemens will bring automation components such as Simatic and WinCC to the collaboration.
