Praescient Analytics has assembled a new analytics-as-a-service team to track suspicious patterns in the healthcare system that could indicate fraudulent activity.
The company said Thursday that its A3S team looks at services provided at hospitals, individual practices and other aspects such as specialist referrals to detect potential issues such as duplicate and unnecessary lab work.
Analysts will work to sort through large volumes of data and integrate them into a single software platform to pinpoint possible patterns and trends that are cause for investigation, Praescient said.
