ASRC Federal’s space and defense division will help operate spacecraft and facilities for the Naval Research Laboratory under a potential five-year, $40 million contract.
The Charles County, Md.-based Blossom Point Tracking Facility performs command and control functions for the federal government’s research and development satellites, ASRC Federal said Tuesday.
Paul Dillahay, ASRC Federal president and CEO, said the company will provide satellite services to the NRL at Blossom Point.
“Blossom Point Tracking Facility has been at the forefront of satellite operations technology development,” he said.
Work under the contract will include satellite tracking, command and control, data collection and site management services.
Personnel at Blossom Point work to connect R&D satellites with ground station networks such as the Air Force Satellite Control Network, as well as local and remote assets on NRL and other government properties.
