Roger Baker serves as chief strategy officer at Agilex where he is responsible for the company’s growth and market and service delivery strategies.
He leads a team that works with clients and partners to enhance and implement information technology operations modernization, performance and missions results and lower sustainment costs.
Before Baker joined Agilex in April 2013, he served as chief information officer of the Department of Veterans Affairs beginning in 2009 where he focused on mobile devices, cloud computing and agile software development.
Baker was the Department of Commerce CIO from 1998 to 2001.
During his career in the private sector, he served in various leadership roles at Dataline lLC, General Dynamics Information Technology, CACI International, BlueGill Technologies, VISA International and Verdix Corp.
He has been honored with awards such as the ACT-IAC’s 2011 John J. Franke award, AFFIRM’s 2012 Executive Leadership in Information Resources Management – Civilian award, GCN’s 2010 Civilian Agency Executive of the Year and the Federal 100 Award on three occasions.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Baker holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science and a masters in business administration.
