Opower, an energy software company based in Arlington, Va., has filed documents to become a public company and plans to raise $100 million, according to a Gigaom article.
Opower was founded in 2007 by Alex Laskey and Dan Yates and works with utilities to make products such as itemized energy bills, emailed energy efficiency tips and thermostat software.
The company had revenue of $88.70 million in 2013 and $51.76 million in 2012 and will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange as OPWR.
Opower has 465 employees, 133 of those are in sales, 188 are in R&D and 144 work in operations and services.
