Satcom Direct will distribute Inmarsat‘s mobile Broadband Global Area Network service to aerospace clients, continuing a partnership between the two companies that launched in 2007.
Inmarsat intends to help Satcom Direct’s customers simultaneously transmit voice and broadband data up to 492 kilobytes per second through the Inmarsat-4 satellite terminals, the companies said Wednesday.
“Our aerospace clients are expanding into remote parts of the world that lack land-based communications connectivity,†said David Greenhill, Satcom president.
“BGAN also complements our investment into our affiliate company ndtHOST. Its new 25,000 sq ft data center delivers cloud computing solutions for our customers operating on land, sea or in air,” Greenhill added.
Satcom has around 2,000 land mobile customers worldwide.
