Motorola Solutions will work with Brunei’s national police agency to deploy a Terrestrial Trunked Radio network in the country as part of the agency’s 10-year strategic planning program that is scheduled to complete in 2016.
The national digital communication system is intended to streamline public safety and security services with centralized information, the company said Wednesday.
Under a multi-million dollar contract, Motorola Solutions will install Dimetra IP TETRA switches and base stations to connect more than 5,000 mobile and portable radios issued to the police and other government offices.
Brunei plans to expand the system into areas such as narcotics control, immigration and labor and land transport.
Motorola helped the police agency build a digital radio communication network for the ASEAN Summit 2013 held in the country in October.
