TeleCommunication Systems has launched a new mapping and navigational technology offering for mobile device users.
TCS developed the Gokivo 2.0 app with existing location-based services technologies for users to view weather conditions in real time through the DopplerNav weather overlay, TCS said Monday.
Jay Whitehurst, president of TCS’ commercial software group, said Gokivo 2.0 is intended to aid in the customers’ navigation experience by displaying weather information, maps and search functions.
The app features three-dimensional maps with navigation data such as controls and landmarks, as well as a voice assistance system built to support more than 30 languages.
Gokivo 2.0 is also built with search functions for automatic suggestions and information on gas prices, movies, local events, ratings and reviews.
The app is designed to be compatible with Android and iPhone devices and for users to share data through messaging, email and social media.
