Leidos will work with LSB Industries under three contracts worth $82.7 million combined to manage construction of nitric acid and nitric acid concentrator plants, as well as to operate outside battery limits utilities.
Engineering, procurement and construction support work will occur at the El Dorado Chemical Company facility in Arkansas until mid-2015, Leidos said Wednesday.
James Moos, president of Leidos’ engineering solutions group, said the company will work to help LSB with construction of three El Dorado plants.
LSB intends for the acid plant to produce 360,000 ton of nitric acid per year and for the concentrator plant to handle 40,000 tons per year.
Leidos previously helped with design and construction work for an ammonia plant at El Dorado under another contract.
LSB is a manufacturer of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning products, as well as chemical products for agriculture, industrial and other uses.
