Saudi Arabia’s national guard ministry plans to award a contract in September 2014 for maintenance work on 60 helicopters stationed in the country’s capital of Riyadh.
QinetiQ North America said Thursday it is a member of a Northrop Grumman-led team competing for that contract and additional members include the PAE-owned subsidiary DS2, AAR and Vinnell Arabia.
Dave Shrum, executive vice president and general manager of defense solutions at QNA, said the team will work to help Saudi Arabia’s national guard build up its aviation portfolio if the team wins the integrated maintenance support services contract.
The country plans for the awardee to perform maintenance work on UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, AH-64D Block III Apache helicopters, and AH-6i Light Attack helicopters.
Potential work under the contract will also include logistics and training tasks for air and ground vehicles.
