The new portfolio contains products for enterprise mobility management, application development and Internet-connected devices, CA said Monday.
Ram Varadarajan, general manager of new business innovation at CA Technologies, said the company aims for the cloud management offering to help businesses turn mobile challenges into opportunities.
CA Technologies built the mobility management component for handling mobile devices, applications and content, Mobile DevOps for developing and deploying apps and the Enterprise Internet of Things for securing machine-to-machine connections.
The Mobile DevOps product is also developed to test and run application programming interface-based mobile apps.
CA’s mobile management system runs the Smart Containerization technology. The company also updated its identity-based service for cloud and mobile app security.

John Borghard, CA’s senior vice president for enterprise license accounts, told FedScoop that the “most impactful trend (in government) is the movement from distributed to cloud… We haven’t seen something this big since the movement from mainframe to distributed years ago.”
Borghard added that “inside the government, they need to embrace some of the newer technologies that are coming along, things like DevOps, that are a major difference in the way they’ve been doing things.”
“It means taking a look at, ‘do I need to spend the money on the people, maintenance and operation’, or ‘do I start putting it into technology that might reduce those costs, similar to what the commercial customers are doing’.”
