Oracle is working with Los Angeles County’s Department of Health Services to implement an enterprise analytics platform intended to help the agency monitor clinical resources and manage patient records.
LA County DHS wants to use Oracle technology as the baseline for the department’s integrated warehouse containing medical, utilization and financial data, Oracle said Tuesday.
According to Oracle, the county’s enterprise patient data repository will be built to comply with managed care requirements under the Affordable Care Act.
Dave Watson, vice president of Oracle Health Sciences, said the business aims for healthcare organizations to gain new insights into cost and care outcomes by using the Oracle analytics technology.
Anish Mahajan, director of system planning, improvement, and data analytics at LA County DHS, said the Oracle-powered repository is intended to help manage services across four hospitals and 19 ambulatory care centers.
The department selected Oracle Enterprise Healthcare Analytics with that platform’s Oracle Healthcare Data Warehouse Foundation and Oracle Healthcare Analytics Data Integration components.
