Dell is working with the Students’ Health and Welfare Centres Organisation to launch the company’s first solar laboratory in South Africa’s Western Cape region on Jan. 30, the South Africa The Good News reported Thursday.
The Dell Solar Lab will be at SHAWCO’s facility in Kensington and work to serve more than 300 students and 150 community members in Manenberg, Khayelitsha and other surrounding localities.
Made from a standard shipping container, the lab is intended to function as a classroom for students and house a computing tool from Dell Wyse for training and education.
The mobile lab follows a solar powered mobile classroom opened by Dell in Nigeria last year, the report said.
