Exelis Inc. has partnered with a nonprofit organization and a talent consultancy firm to launch a leadership and training program for veterans entering the civilian sector.
Korn Ferry International and Points of Light will work with Exelis’ corporate volunteer service program to offer the four-month program to 35 veterans, Exelis announced Friday at the program’s launch.
“Our focus is not on securing a job – it’s on helping these veterans apply their leadership skills in new and different environments so they can forge a viable career path that will enable them to thrive,†said David Albritton, Exelis chief communications officer.
Exelis Action Corps and Korn Ferry leadership personnel will initially conduct a three-day seminar comprised of onsite classes, group exercises and lectures.
The Leveraging Military Leadership Program is scheduled to convene multiple times a year at sites with a large military and veteran presence.
