Air Force Orders SimiGon Aircraft De-Icing Training System - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSimiGon has received a contract to provide a technology platform for the U.S. Air Force to train the service branch’s technicians to de-ice airplanes.

The company said Tuesday its SIMbox-based virtual reality aircraft de-icing simulator will help USAF conduct training that includes playback and after-action review, scoring, feedback reports and a multiuser mode.

Military and commercial personnel assigned to maintain aviation platforms during cold weather train annually to hone their de-icing skills.

SimiGon estimates that there are 100,000 de-icing trainees from the civilian sector each year.
