CGI announced on Monday that it has been awarded a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract from the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). The contract worth potentially $60 million requires CGI to continue enhancing the Trust Asset Accounting Management System (TAAMS), helping BIA serve Indian Country through improved information sharing and extended TAAMS functionality.

CGI announced on Tuesday that it has secured a position on the Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise (SITE) III contract from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) for the delivery of information technology (IT) mission support services. The contract has a 10-year period and a potential ceiling value of $12.6 billion.

CGI announced on Friday that its Momentum enterprise suite software as a service (SaaS) has been authorized for the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) by the Joint Authorization Board (JAB), enabling the company to work within the cloud at federal agencies. JAB granted CGI the authorization after a six-month certification process.

CGI announced Tuesday its intent to acquire Sense Corp in an effort to increase the former's digital and cloud capabilities and further expand its presence in Austin, Dallas, Houston and St. Louis. The two companies signed an agreement to proceed with the acquisition, which is expected to be completed in early May.

Horace Blackman, senior vice president of consulting services at CGI, told Government Matters in an interview posted Thursday that agencies should consider the option of “reimagining the value chain” as they decide whether to update or replace legacy information technology platforms. “When we talk about reimagining the value chain, it’s looking at the mission and asking the question how can we best leverage technology to support this mission,” said Blackman.

Stephanie Mango, who has been working at CGI for 25 years, was named as president of the company's federal business arm, with transition activities effective immediately. Mango will lead CGI Federal’s 7,000 employees working on partnerships with over 85 government agencies to deliver offerings in support of civilian, defense, healthcare and intelligence projects, the company said Monday.

John Owens, a vice president with CGI Federal's emerging technologies practice, wrote in an article published Friday on GCN that choosing the right code to meet agencies’ needs calls for government information technology leaders to evaluate the problem and work with experts to help with the assessment and decide on the proper tool to adopt. “In government agencies, as in other large organizations, low-code/no-code, COTS and custom development all have a place. I recommend agencies engage experts to help them assess their agency’s needs and select the right solution that balances cost, features, time and performance,” he concluded.

Tim Hurlebaus, president of CGI Federal, has received his fourth Wash100 Award of his career and has secured his 2021 Wash100 Award for driving growth initiatives, expanding enterprise services and technology implementation at CGI Group’s federal services subsidiary. This marks the third consecutive year that Hurlebaus has received the most prestigious award in all of government contracting (GovCon). 

CGI has unveiled a new information technology delivery center in Knoxville, Tennessee, as part of efforts to create 300 jobs in the area by 2026. "We are proud to announce the establishment of a new IT delivery center in Knoxville that will create local jobs, engage regional educators, support area workforce development, and provide opportunities for the community's students, graduates and professionals," said Dave Henderson, president of U.S. commercial and state government operations at CGI.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has adopted a CGI-made enterprise platform as part of a program intended to modernize the department's procurement and financial operations. VA implemented CGI's Momentum, a system designed to help agencies manage procurement, budgeting, assets and finances, in support of the department's Financial Management Business Transformation program, CGI said Wednesday.

The Department of State’s Office of Acquisition Management has selected CGI to serve as one of the prime contractors on the potential ten-year Global Support Strategy for Overseas Consular Support Services 2.0 (GSS 2.0) multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, the company reported on Monday. Under GSS 2.0, the selected companies will compete for task orders under the potential $3.3 billion IDIQ.
