SpaceX has submitted an application with the Federal Communications Commission seeking a special temporary authorization to support the first orbital flight test of its Starship launch system. The Starship test launch will be carried out at SpaceX’s Boca Chica test site in Texas to support the company's efforts to gather data to measure entry dynamics and gain more insights into what the launch vehicle experiences in a flight.

Mynaric announced on Friday that the company has appointed Tim Deaver as vice president of strategic solutions. Deaver has over 20 years of experience with government space programs. He will operate out of Mynaric’s newly established Washington, D.C. area office and will be responsible for creating and marketing customer solutions, in response to the critical needs of the Department of Defense (DOD) and other government clients.

The Federal Aviation Administration is seeking information on industry capabilities to help inform its strategy for the procurement of cybersecurity operations support services. FAA plans to compete a five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for such services in support of its security operations center that helps monitor information security incidents and protect the information technology infrastructure of the FAA and the Department of Transportation.

QuantiTech, a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital, has merged with Millennium Engineering and Integration Company (MEI) to provide engineering services and offerings for mission critical programs within defense and civilian agencies, QuantiTech reported on Wednesday. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. “We are excited about joining forces with MEI," said Darryl Wortman, president and CEO of QuantiTech.
