TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 9, 2021 — MetTel has forged an alliance with two Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) business units have forged a teaming arrangement to compete for the Federal Aviation Administration's enterprise network services contract, GovCon Wire reported March 29.

Raytheon Technologies's intelligence and space business launched a virtual training program in 2020 in an effort to educate participants on how artificial intelligence and machine learning can be applied to the analysis of geospatial intelligence.

Roy Azevedo, president of the intelligence and space unit at Raytheon Technologies and two-time Wash100 Award recipient, said the company employs professionals across Washington, D.C. who support operations and programs via telework or on-site work. A Raytheon Technologies business has received a $15.5 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Lifecycle Management Center to provide a modified version of the company’s high-energy laser weapon system. Raytheon Intelligence and Space said Wednesday it secured the award through the System of Systems Consortium and will supply HELWS to AFLCMC, which will then evaluate the weapon's potential to help air bases target threats such as unmanned aerial vehicles.
