Australia’s military has placed a $55 million order to a Harris Corp. division for logistics and technical support services on the country’s tactical radio systems.
Harris RF Communications will carry out training, maintenance, distribution and engineering work for ADF under the Joint Project 2072 Battlespace Communications platform, Harris said Tuesday.
Harris said the Australian military uses handheld, manpack and vehicular versions of Falcon III multiband radios for networked communications on combat zones.
Alan Callaghan, vice president of international sales and managing director of Harris RF Communications for Asia Pacific, said the support services contract aims to “optimize the investment the Australian government has made in Harris tactical radios and strengthen our long-term, collaborative relationship.â€
