Parsons has secured a $310 million contract with the Chicago Department of Aviation to upgrade the automated transit system at O’Hare International Airport.
Under the design-build agreement, Parsons will extend the ATS tracks by 2,000 feet to accommodate a car rental facility as well as perform replacement work on the existing system that links the airport’s four terminals, the company said Wednesday.
Parsons will also expand the ATS storage and maintenance site and add new rail cars equipped with improved communications, traction power and vehicle control advancements.
“The airport ATS replacement and expansion project will save time and enhance convenience for the many travelers to Chicago,†said Todd Wager, Parsons group president.
