Neustar Inc. has agreed to buy .CO Internet S.A.S., which maintains the registry for Internet addresses with the “.co†domain, Neustar said Thursday.
Lisa Hook, president and CEO of Neustar, said the company intends to integrate .CO Internet’s domain marketing technologies into Neustar’s distribution network and technical resources in order to grow its registry services.
.CO Internet will continue to operate the .co extensions from its Bogota, Colombia-based headquarters following the acquisition.
Neustar and .CO Internet have been jointly providing registry and infrastructure services for Colombia’s .co extensions .
“The acquisition of .CO Internet is a natural fit for us given our successful partnership over the past four years,†added Hook.
As the back-end provider for the .CO internet in 2013, Neustar recorded $4 million in revenue.
The transaction, which will also include .CO Internet S.A.S. business assets associated with the company, is scheduled to complete in one month.
